je ne vois pas de vrai problème de disque. A part vers 4h00 du mat, surement après sauvegarde ou autre opération nocturne, il y probablement une investigation à faire.



Quand à ce log interminable, qu'est-il censé représenter ?

Je note en tout et pour tout trois IP imap connected from 192.168.1.[182/183/247]

Sur 40 machines censées être actives, c'est peu.

Puis le message : read: Connection reset by peer (104) qui laisse bien supposer que c'est le serveur qui est surpris !

Alors, dysfonctionnement IMAP ou dysfonctionnement de trois clients ?...

Salut Franck,

En fait, ce problème dépasse mon seuil de compétences, alors pour vous donner toute les clés pour réfléchir, j'ai préféré noter tout le log.

Pour les clients connectés, c'est possible que dans la journée indiquée un certain nombre de gens absents n'utilisent pas leur mails (congés de noël). Ensuite j'ai bien précisé dans mon premier post qu'il n'y avait qu'une vingtaine de personnes qui utilisent les mails, c'est une déformation du sujet qui a donné le nombre total d'employés comme nombre d'utilisateurs des mails.
Il n'y a donc bien que 20 personnes en moyenne qui utilisent les mails.

Je note en tout et pour tout trois IP imap connected from 192.168.1.[182/183/247]

Que trois, c'est possible, ça parait peu mais c'est possible en ce moment.

Alors, dysfonctionnement IMAP ou dysfonctionnement de trois clients ?...

C'est possible aussi sachant que c'est souvent les mêmes utilisateurs qui se plaignent du problème. Mais dans ce cas d'où vient-il ? J'ai vérifié la config de leur thunderbird, et tout me semble parfaitement normal !

Quel peut être le problème dans le client pour faire ça ? Un firewall ? Thunderbird ?

En temps normal (en dehors des périodes fêtes/congés), je peux vous dire qu'il y a AU MOINS 9 personnes qui se servent tous les jours sans exception de leur boite mail. Alors si il y a bien 3 clients défectueux on a déjà 1/3 de clients qui posent problème ! d'où les plaintes.

Il y a 1 semaines, quelqu'un qui avait très souvent ce problème m'a dit que 2 semaines auparavant, agacé par son client mail qui ne marchait plus, il a piqué le câble ethernet d'un collègue absent. Tout content, il m'a annoncé que le problème n'était pas réapparus depuis. Manque de bol, le problème est revenu 3 jours après..
Alors ? Est-ce que ça a un rapport ou est-ce un simple concours de circonstances ?

Le problème c'est que je ne sais plus par où attaquer le problème et je ne suis pas assez doué en la matière pour résoudre ce problème seul. :|

Et ce problème de disque ? Est-ce avéré ou non ?
Les disques de ce serveurs sont censés être "intelligent", une diode verte s'allume en lecture/ecriture, et une diode orange s'allume en cas de défaillance du disque. Actuellement, les 3 disques clignotent normalement.

Pour le problème de disque, effectivement, si tu as un raid matériel HP (un vrai, sur un contrôleur SMART, parce qu'il me semble que maintenant, sur les 'petits' H Ptu peux avoir du raid "soft", alors le message d'errer remonté peut être à priori mis de côté.
Ceci dit, chez HP, il y a un chouette outil (encore qu'un peu rébarbatif à prendre en main) pour connaitre l'état d'un contrôleur RAID et des disques depuis Linux. Problème, je ne l'ai test que sous RedHat, jamais sous CentOS (pas trop le genre de ma boite !)
le produit s'appelle hpacucli et se trouve assez facilement sur le site HP. C'est un rpm, mais qui n'est pas trop lié aux versions de kernel. J'ai tendance à penser qu'une version pour RedHat 4 (si tu es sous SME 7) ou RedHat 5 (Si tu es sous SME 8) a de fortes chances de fonctionner et de te remonter l'état "vrai" de ton RAID. (Très utile pour savoir si la batterie est à changer, par exemple !)

Egalement, HP envoie parfois des alertes correspondant à des drivers à mettre à jour pour résoudre des messages "disques" dans les logs. Mais là par contre, j'hésiterais plus à coller un driver RedHat sur une CentOS (Peut-être parfaitement infondée comme crainte !)

C'est une bonne idée Sibsib, mais je suis pas trop chaud car souvent avant de lancer une install ou mettre en place un truc un peu délicat, j'utilise un vieux serveur passé sous sme (pentium II, ça marche bien mais les réponses du serveur par le réseau sont trèèèèès trèès longue), or dans le cas de ce système HP, le vieux serveur n'en possédant pas, je ne peux pas faire les même tests et donc je me lance sans savoir ce que ça peut donner.

C'est intéressant mais risqué. Je ne suis pas sûr pour l'instant que ça vaille le coup.
Et malheureusement, si je ne me trompe pas, la seule solution pour voir l'état du raid HP est de booter sur le contrôleur raid, et donc d'éteindre le serveur, ce qui est quand même assez difficile.
Voir les led clignoter correctement ne signifie pas forcément que les disques sont fonctionnels ?

Et pour l'IMAP, y-a-t-il quelque chose à faire du coup si ce n'est pas un problème disque ?

J'ai 150 serveurs HP en gestion, et je n'ai jamais vu de défaillance disque sans que les voyants passent au rouge (fixe ou clignotant, selon que le disque est mort, ou que HP détecte une défaillance imminente).
Par contre, j'ai un peu de mal à scripter la lecture régulière des leds, c'est quand même beaucoup plus facile avec hpacucli :-)
Plus sérieusement, hpacucli te donne nettement plus d'infos, et notamment, tu peux voir l'état de ton contrôleur, ce que les led disques ne feront jamais.

Ceci dit, tu devrais plutôt creuser Internet avec ton message d'erreur disque pour voir s'il peut y avoir un problème software (driver, simple message cosmétique...) J'ai lu des trucs à ce sujet, mais ce serait plutôt pour RedHat 6 / CentOS 6.
